Despite what you hear in the media, now is a great time to buy real estate. Buying real estate is not a quick turn around investment, but if you are in it for the long haul (5-7 years or more) you will see a return on your investment that you cannot get with stocks. There are some great deals to be had out there, and even better deals if you are willing to participate in some "sweat equity".
